National Veterinary Technician Week: Kari Holt, LVT

We are rounding out National Veterinary Technician week with our newest technician on the team, Kari Holt. Kari joined us at Schmitt's Animal Hospital about three months ago. In that short time Kari has already established herself as a talented LVT with a big heart, lots of character, and an amazing sense of humor. Read on for Kari's Employee Spotlight and fun facts!

• What is your favorite part of your job?
  I love medicine & I love doing different procedures & meeting new people every day. Oh, & I love animals!
  
• What type of education have you obtained?
  2 Associate's Degrees (Muskegon Community College & Baker College) and LVT license
• How many pets do you have?
  2 cats (Jax & Little) and 1 chinchilla (Olive)
  
• Who does your family consist of?
  My dad, my sister Molly, and boyfriend of 17 years Bobby
  
• What is your favorite season?
  Fall - I love October & Halloween!!
  
• What do you like to do for fun/hobbies?
  Read, go golfing
  
• What is your favorite snack/food?
  Tacos!
  
• What is your favorite movie/tv show?
  Beetlejuice
  
• What is your favorite genre of music and favorite artist/band?
  Favorite genre is rock. Some of my favorites are Rise Against, 311, 10 Years, Tool
  
• What is the best concert you've ever attended?
  My friends and I try to see 311 every year since forever. It's my favorite tradition.
  
• Where is your favorite place in the world?
  My bed :)
  
• If you could be any animal, what would you be?
  A chinchilla! I want to sleep all day and take dust baths.
  
• What is the last book you read?
  Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer
  
• What is the craziest thing you've ever done?
  White water rafting in Colorado

  Halloween Wars on Hulu
  
• Who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
  One of my cats - I can nap & eat all day and not feel bad about it!
  
• What's the best meal you've ever had?
  Homemade lasagna made by my dad!
  
• If you could visit anywhere in the world you've never been, where would you go?
  Rome or Greece - somewhere in Europe

  People driving slow in the passing lane

  Johnathan Taylor Thomas on Home Improvement
  
• What job did you have in high school?
  I designed urns for grave sites at a greenhouse
