Opening Hospital to Clients

The day we've all been waiting for is finally approaching. Schmitt's Animal Hospital will once again be welcoming our pet parents into the building with their pets starting Monday July 5th! We would like to thank everyone again for the patience and understanding you have displayed over this past year of curbside service. The switch back to in-person appointments will be gradual and a work-in-progress as we continue to learn what works best for our hospital. With that in mind, we want to make everyone aware of our new operating guidelines moving forward:

Beginning Monday July 5th, all appointments with a doctor will be limited to one person accompanying their pet into the hospital. Appointments scheduled with a technician (nail trim, anal gland expression, heartworm test, suture removal, etc.) will remain curbside for now. Euthanasia appointments may have two people present. Masks will be optional. If you prefer our staff wear face masks at your appointment, please let us know and we will be happy to comply. Curbside appointments remain available to those who prefer not to come into the building and to those unable to leave additional family members at home or in the car. All food and medication pick-ups will also still be conducted via curbside.

Our lobby area will remain closed. Please still call or text to let us know when you have arrived. Our technicians will continue to take medical histories over the phone and will then instruct you to enter the building. All payments and check-out procedures will be conducted inside your exam room at the conclusion of your appointment.

It's been a long year and we are excited to be taking this first step towards normalcy. We do, however, ask for your continued vigilance. If you are ill, are experiencing Covid related symptoms, or know that you have recently been exposed, please make our staff aware and reschedule your appointment for a later date.
